If your current cabinets were constructed well and are square and sturdy, a great option is to have the cabinets refaced. This doesn’t mean that tacky contact paper will be stuck all over your old cupboard doors and drawers. It means that all of those doors and drawers will be removed and new doors and drawer fronts, made of beautiful solid wood of your choice will appear. The existing outer frame of your cabinets can either be painted or stained to match or complement the new refaced cabinets or they can have a real wood, matching veneer glued onto them. Cabinet refacing is the perfect option if you like the arrangement of your , but you dislike either the style or low-quality material that the cupboard doors and drawers are made of. All of your existing framework will stay in place. If your cupboard doors are standard sizes, you may be able to purchase new ones directly from your local home improvement store.
