Go and look at your bedroom. Is this your oasis? Do you feel comfortable in here? Or, is it just a room where you clear a spot on the bed and collapse at the end of the day? Our bedrooms should be one of the rooms in our home where we can enjoy a few moments of privacy. And even those few minutes a day deserve to be spent in our own oasis.
Your bedroom may have a long way to go before it can be what anyone would consider an oasis. Whether it needs a small bedroom redecorating or a full bedroom remodeling, your bedroom oasis is awaiting to be discovered.
Start by making a list of all the items that need to be removed from your bedroom oasis. Do you really need the sewing machine or the treadmill that you never use in your bedroom? A bedroom should be a room that inspires feelings of calm, meditation and relaxation. Other than your bed, side tables and dresser, the only other items recommended would be a comfortable chair and small table to get cozy in while you look out the window or read a good book.
If your bed has seen it’s last days or you would love something bigger or softer and more inviting, relegate your old bed to a guest bedroom or give it to one of the children. They will love having your old full or queen-size bed for their very own.
When it comes to bed mattress selections, educate yourself on the available bed matress choices before you set out to shop. You’ll find the experience much less confusing and far more rewarding when you have your first nights sleep on your new mattress.
Finally, whether you need to completely overhaul your bedroom by remodeling or just update it with redecorating, imagine the room you would feel comfortable in and make that oasis more than a mirage. Make it a reality.
