Most of us love color. We paint the walls in our home, buy colorful clothes and stand in wonder and awe before a beautiful sunset. But perhaps the most beautiful colors of all are offered in flowering plants. The amazing colors provided by nature in a colorful garden is a luxury that can be ours to delight in year after year.
Adding color to your garden through the use of colorful perennials is an exciting way to enjoy those awe-inspiring colors. Colorful bedare best because they do not need to be repurchased and replanted every year. There are so many varieties of plants for every growing area of the country and every style and taste.
Plan a trip to your nearest nursery. All of the plants will have information letting you know if it is a perennial, how tall it grows and how long it blooms. Make a list of your favorites and draw a diagram of the area in your garden you wish to add color to. Decide which plants will look best and how many will be needed once they are full size. The wonderful benefit of perennials is that once you’ve purchased them, you won’t have to buy them again. In fact, many, like gladiolas will increase in number every year and they can be split and used to plant in other places of the garden.
In today’s busy world having a haven full of color can do wonders for your peace of mind. Relaxing in a colorful garden with the birds happily singing around you sounds like the perfect way to begin or end any day.
