There aren’t many creatures as incredible or beautiful as a or butterfly. They come in so many varieties and colors that we could never tire of watching them. Their grace and beauty are highly prized in any garden.

Hummingbirds and similarly, butterflies are very attracted to that produce nectar. In fact, nectar is what they live on and without it they will die. To attract hummingbirds or butterflies you need to supply them with what they need, if not with plants, then with feeders. It is always good to supplement your garden with a few feeders anyway since each hummingbird needs the nectar of about one thousand flowers each and every day.

Remember to provide plants that attract caterpillars, as they will become butterflies and plants that butterflies like to lay their eggs on as well. By having plants that attract butterflies and hummingbirds at every stage of their life, you will be ensuring a healthy hummingbird and butterfly garden.

There are many resources you can consult when researching which plants are best for creating a hummingbird and butterfly garden. Many plants have different varieties that will be suitable for your area of the country. There are many books you can buy or borrow from your library. The Internet has many sites dedicated to which plants are best in creating your garden.

Besides attracting extraordinary wildlife to your home, you will have the lush beauty and fragrance of hundreds of blooms all around you. Besides perennial and annual plants, you can include flowering trees, bushes, hedges and vines. Clearly this is not the place for anyone with allergies, but just the environment for attracting those lovely hummingbirds and butterflies.
