There is nothing more relaxing than the sound of water flowing. Whether it is the ocean waves, the lapping on the lakeshore or a babbling brook, they all induce a hypnotic, relaxed feeling. Now, imagine having those sounds in your own backyard. And not only the sounds, but a lovely that is as beautiful to look at as it is to listen to.

Water features are not new. They have been a part of for thousands of years. Most ancient water features relied on gravity and the natural lie of the land to exhibit their charm. Now, with the use of water pumps, decorative artificial rocks, and the abundance of plants and moss, we can create water features and backyard ponds that are to be envied.

Water features can be as calm and as interesting as a backyard pond for Koi or as elaborate as a multi level waterfall with fountains. The design can be purchased as a kit or you could design your own and purchase the items as needed. Planning one can be an enjoyable experience. You can find many books and websites on the subject. Many will have pictures of completed water features to help you get some ideas. They also explain the different types of equipment you can buy.

The water pump is the most important piece of equipment for your water feature. Water pumps are quieter and more efficient than they have ever been. And they allow for designs that are only limited by your imagination. Liners are made of industrial strength flexible plastic and can be trimmed to any shape imaginable for backyard ponds and features.

Turn a corner of your backyard into a tropical oasis where you can relax and enjoy the meditative attributes of your very own water feature.
